Trying To Actually Sell The Products

Are you focusing your energy on designing a sales pitch for your affiliate product? If so, quit it. As strange as it may sound, as an affiliate, you’re not supposed to sell.  Here is an all-too-common scenario. Suppose a visitor to your site reads your sales pitch, clicks your affiliate link, and then is hit on the very next website with yet another sales pitch. Do you think your visitor will buy the product? Of course not.  To prevent this from happening, you need to use your site to pre-sell your affiliate product, not sell it. Remember, it is your job to interest the prospects into checking out the actual sales page, not create an advertisement. Doing this will keep your visitor’s attention and increase the chances that they will complete the buying cycle, going from a prospect to a customer. It will prevent visitors from losing interest and simply leaving your site.

Marketing Products That Have Multiple Payment Options

Of all possible affiliate mistakes, this one is the most widespread. You can potentially lose the commission that you have earned if you decide to market an affiliate item which enables the buyer to pay in multiple ways. This is very specifically true in the case of Clickbank products, as Clickbank only vends products that are downloadable. There are many vendors on Clickbank who have multiple payment options available, like merchant gateways and physical checks. It’s important to ask – how will this affect your commission? In case someone purchases the product using the other available payment options rather than using Clickbank, you might not get credit for the sale and lose your Clickbank affiliate commission.

Failing to build an e-mail list can limit exposure to potential prospects.

Most people who click on your link will not buy your promoted product the first time they visit; it usually takes time for them to check around and make a decision to purchase it. Consider adding an opt-in form on your website. Take the opportunity to collect names and e-mail addresses. This will help build long term profits. Maintaining a mailing list will enable you to provide subscribers with additional information and incentives to purchase our product; and you will forge a trust relationship with them. You can use this to develop a relationship in them, so they feel more invested in your product and more inclined to buy from you.

You should go for an affiliate product that gives you at least a 50% in commissions and put your every effort to promote it the right way.  It is important not to rush; take the time needed to maximize your profits and your earning potential.
